Hey everyone: How was your Thanksgiving? Mine was busy with my mother-in-law here for the weekend, my two cute nieces here with their mom and dad Thanksgiving evening Friday. The bummer of it all was I was sick. I had called in sick 2 days before Thanksgiving and felt horrible all day Thanksgiving. Everyone helped out and chipped in, so it all turned out okay. I did manage to get one sock finished and made sure I cast on the other sock to avoid suffering the SSS (second sock syndrome). The minute my mother-in-law left I made sure to pick the Aran Afghan and get going on it.

So many projects, so little time. Here is the sock yarn waiting to be cast on from my SOTM club from Joslyn's Fiber Farm.

Hope you all have had a wonderful weekend and that getting back into the grind tomorrow isn't bad.

I just started the toe on my sock today. I didn't go much further with that. I probably won't get much knitting done this week as I'm having Thanksgiving done at my house. Just in case I won't have time to blog, have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

The holidays have officially begun at our house. I made two batches of Granny Miller's (my mother-in-law) shortbread tonight. The trick is to keep them around long enough for me to take one batch to work and the other for Thanksgiving day. I have to hide them from my husband! :-)

My hubby and I went to the library today and I checked out some books on knitting patterns and techniques. I have to reserve the others on line as the ones I really wanted were already checked out.

We also bathed all 3 cats today and gave them their monthly flea stuff. They smell SO clean!!

I also am just about to start the toe on one sock. I know - I know - I have to get going on that aran afghan.

So, that's about it for now. I've had a busy day!

My husband lost his job today - just like Elizabeth Zimmermann said........ "Knit on, with confidence and hope, through all crises."

I'm so psyched! I just finished the cabled scarf, which is my own design. I was able to finish the last few inches during lunch today. I just need to weave in the ends and block it! I wonder how much begging it would take to have my friend Joan take a few pictures of it with her digital camera??!?? ::hint, hint, Joan::

Now I just need to finish the aran afghan....

I am nearly done with the cabled scarf! If I didn't have so much to do tonight I'd have it finished, but alas - no knitting for me tonight. However, it will definitely be done and blocked by this weekend. YAY! I just need to finish the afghan and knitting for Christmas will be done. I got the new SOTM from Joslyn's Fiber Farm today. I'm still working on September's sock! One day I'll be current with it all. :-)

Not much to post today. Busy with cleaning house and laundry - you know, the mundane stuff. I came in to use my computer and there is my sweet fur baby Mia (8 months old) sound asleep on my desk waiting for me. She sleeps on my shoulder/back of the chair when I knit, and beside my keyboard when I'm on the computer. How cute is that???

I definitely got half of the scarf done tonight. Darnit - wish I had a digital camera. Definitely will want to get one when I get going on my Dale of Norway sweater.

The rain still hasn't arrived. It's been cold and threatening but nothing. Nada. Zilch. :-(
It's a rainy weekend and there's nothing better than sitting down with cup of coffee, knitting, and a movie. Of course, I have things that really need to be done, but I have a headache. :-) Working madly on the scarf, which I forgot to mention is my own design of cables and stitches.

A goal I have for myself is after the first of the year I'm going to dive into my first Norwegian sweater! I have translated two Norwegian patterns into English. This is the first time I have done this. I've had the help of a friend at work who has helped me when I get stuck. I have found this great website that helps me with translating Norwegian words into English. I will get better with time, I'm sure.

For the weekend I think I can get the scarf half finished. I'm putting my sock on the back burner as they are for me. The scarf and afghan are Christmas presents.

Here's a picture of our fur babies. Poppy is on the right and Tippi is on the left. We have since added another, named Mia. Picture of her will be posted soon!

Welcome to my knitting blog!! Why can't I be knitting right now?? Why are there higher priorities than knitting?
